        For the year of 2008, El Segundo Middle School has a great way for students to become “student athletes.”  A student athlete is a name for students who play a sport of dance, but spend more time on their education.

 

        El Segundo Middle School is a great place for students to learn how to play or get better at many sports.  The variety of sports includes the ESMS Golf Club or Physical Education (P.E.).  In P.E., the middle school students learn how to keep healthy and get active playing fun sports that all grades can enjoy!  The El Segundo Middle School is a great way for students to get active, and healthy.

 

        During Physical Education, students will have a chance to play sports.  These sports (or units) are going to be flag football, ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, soft lacrosse, soccer, dance or step aerobics, basketball, volleyball, softball, and many more fun activities.  One thing that is important about sports and/or athletic activities is health.  In P.E. students will learn how to eat healthy.  In Physical Education, students will learn how to eat healthy and have a healthy diet.  Physical Education is a great subject or way to learn and play sports.

 

        In addition, 25 students were asked the question: What is your favorite sport to play?  El Segundo Middle School students like “other” more than the choices of baseball or softball, football, hockey, soccer, and volleyball.

 

        A total of 25 middle school students are surveyed and 42% of the surveyed chose “other.”  A pretty large amount chose baseball or softball with a total of 24%.  Soccer had the next highest at 16% and the penultimate percentage had 10%, and that was football.  For last, volleyball and hockey had 4%.  ESMS students’ favorite sport is “other”.
