8th Grade Trip to Washington DC/New York Interview
A while
ago, Miss Berry, the teacher in charge of the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.
and New York, was interviewed. I found out that the 8th graders couldn’t wait
to go see both towns. Also, I was told that there are two parts of the trip.
The first half of it will take place in Washington D.C. and the second half
will take place in New York. The cost to cover all necessary things is around
$2000.
In
Washington D.C. the 8th graders will visit: The White House, the Capitol
Building, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Ford
Theatre, Peterson House, Mount Vernon, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and
so on. However, in New York they will visit: Empire State Building, Central
Park, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Statue of Liberty, Ellis island, Chinatown, and
so on.
The trip
will take place during spring break on 2009 Sunday April 5th- Friday April
10th. In order to be able to go on the trip, students must show good behavior
throughout the entire year. This means grades don’t count, behavior does. The
airlines that will be taken are Delta, United or American airlines. The 8th
graders will stay at hotels such as Hiton, Hyatt and others.
This trip
is sponsored to teach 8th graders about very important historical events, that
happened in Washington D.C. and New York. The 8th graders all really would like
to go on the trip as well as the teachers and chaperons.
