Teachers are planning on the OSS field trip where students will be gone on a 7-day trip. The sixth grade teachers are preparing OSS, which will happen in March of 2009 at Malibu, California. Also the sixth grade science teachers are also handing out many different assignments to students. Models will also be very big assignments during the year. But the one of the most important assignments are the Labs, which is big learning experience to students and science teachers.

Mrs. Beachly said that the activities that are going to happen this year were Ocean Safety Day and OSS, which is to come in March. So far in Science we have only done two projects this year, but Mrs. Beachly said that there are a lot more projects that are going to come this year. I also asked her about what we are going to be learning about. Also students are also learning a lot about the Earth this year.

Students are learning about Alfred Wegner and his theory about Pangaea. Students are also being assigned notes as homework to students. That sure can be a handful students said when they were told about the notes that they would have to do.  Doing assignments could be a big thing this year in getting a good grade this year in Science.

Of course there will many fun things in Science this year. Students look forward to making models this year. “Students just love to let out there little artists in them, so that is why we do them. To let kids have fun while also learning about the subject.” said Ms. Eder when she was asked about the models they would do this year. From students standpoint models are one of the best things this year in science.
