Be warned: This is not for the squeamish. Be prepared to be scared senseless from this rollercoaster ride of tension and fear. From the director of Dog Soldiers comes The Descent. Starring Shauna MacDonald and Natalie Jackson Mendoza, The Descent is a horror movie that fuels your adrenaline rush and leaves you glued to the screen until the very end. This electrifying horror plays to some of our most common human fears, such as claustrophobia, disorientation, and hallucinations.

Being the only survivor of the deadly car crash that killed her husband and daughter, Sarah has lost her adventurous self and has distanced herself from her friends. One year later, after being forced by her best friend, Sarah reunites with her friends to explore an undiscovered cave hidden deep in the woods of the Appalachian Mountains.

It’s survival of the fittest when the women are caved in and separated from each other by bloodthirsty cave-dwellers. These things are blind, but use sounds to hunt. It’s a bloodbath as the cave inhabitants try to hunt for their prey, and the women fight for their lives to find an exit or die trying.

Overall, The Descent is a great Halloween movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is a horror masterpiece of our generation that starts with a bloody bang and finishes off with an ending that will leave you thoroughly exhausted. So rent it, grab your popcorn, bring your friends, turn off the lights and enjoy.
