The process of ordering class rings is well under-way. Jostens is the company that Patterson Mill will be purchasing their rings from, as done in the past. The rings range from $200.00 to $500.00, depending on the size of the ring and the metal that you choose. The only option presented to the students is Jostens, however many are unaware that there are other options.
There are other stores that can make you your class ring. For example, Wal-Mart, Gordon’s Jewelers, and Zale’s are stores that make class rings, and depending on which ring you choose it can be much less expensive than Jostens.
At Wal-Mart a Men’s “normal” class ring ranges from $100 -$600, once again depending on the type of metal that is chosen. The least expensive is Valadium, a fine stainless steel that resembles white gold. The most, however, is a 14K gold ring priced at $600. Also, at Wal-Mart, ladies may purchase their rings with a price range from $100-$400. The Valadium ring is the same as the men’s and the 14K gold ring is priced at $400. All of the rings include the option of engraving the inside of the band. Although there are not as many activity options to put on the sides of the rings, this is still an option worth observing.
Zales is a more upscale jeweler who also makes class rings. The prices can be higher than those even of Jostens, if an expensive metal is picked. The ladies rings range from $200-$500. The least expensive is made with a metal called siladium. Siladium is another stainless steel metal that resembles white gold. The most expensive option for the ladies at Zales is a 10K gold ring with a diamond, instead of a stone. The men have the same options; however their rings range from $200-$800. Zales has many more options when it comes to activities to put on your ring, and engraving is also an option.
As stated by Erica Richardson, “Purchasing a class ring is a great way to remember your high school years.”
