Our sports have been moving up and as fall seasons end and the final records for teams come out, many show improvement and are going on in championships.

Field Hockey had an overall season of 10-2. They won their regional tournament Thursday November 5th against Harford Tech. Cross country had their regional meet on the same day against Pikesville, and both the boy’s and girl’s teams came in 3rd overall so the team qualifies for states. “We’re all really psyched!” exclaimed Torrie Manning, a sophomore on the team.

Cheerleading placed 5th in the Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) fall competition. Football had a tough loss on their final game Friday November 6th against Rising Sun. Husky fans went all out for the blackout game, and supported the team’s ending record of 6-4.

Boys’ soccer had a tough season and ended with a record of 4-8. However, they participated in a regional semifinal at home on Friday, November 6th against Harford Tech and won 6-0-making a strong end to their season. Girls’ soccer had a close season of 4-5-3. They lost their regional semifinals on Friday November 6th away at Harford Tech.

Boy’s volleyball made the top three in the HCPS tournament and had an overall season of 5-8. Girls’ volleyball had an undefeated season of 15-0 and the team made three consecutive wins in Regional Quarterfinals: Perryville on Monday November 9th, Havre de Grace Wednesday the 11th, and Colonel Richardson on Friday the 13th. The girls’ coach Justin Cross stated, “The girls have really played great this year. I’m very proud of what they have accomplished.” The volleyball team then headed to the MPSSAA State Championships on Thursday the 19th and had a tough loss against Catoctin.

On the golf team, Eric Langrehr, a 9th grader, is a state champion. In addition, Stefany King, an 11th grader is a Woman’s Champion and placed 5th in the state of Maryland.

Husky athletics are showing promise for seasons to come. As stated by Coach Cross, “Perfection is our goal.”
