In the best season Patterson Mill has had they were able to make it to the state finals where they lost to St. Michaels.

            After crushing Dunbar 23-0 in the state semi-finals Patterson Mill arrived at the game with confidence.  Junior Matt Golczewski, who had been the ace of the team all year, got the start and was solid but not spectacular giving up 4 runs through 7 innings. Unfortunately the offense never got going and the huskies were shut out 4-0.

            Senior Zack Zeller, who was the starting 3rd basemen for the huskies, gave a glowing review of the team before the game.

            “We dominated the lower division all season and ran the table all year. Win or lose this would be one of the most successful seasons in the programs history.”
            Though this season ended with a disappointment it should still be viewed as the great achievement it was.

            Next season could prove to be a challenge for the baseball team which will lose five senior starters.

            Sophomore Griffin Marge had this to say about the departures, “We lose a lot of senior leadership but being around those guys all last season we learned from them, and next year other guys can step up and fill those roles.”

            With number one started Matt Golczewski returning, and the team eager for a championship in the 2012 season.
