Ms. Smith with one of the boxes used to collect money. - Jeff Tolson

Ms. Suzie is a very popular bus driver who drives teams to and from games. She has recently suffered from a few health problems and does not have insurance. The students here at Patterson Mill this week are trying to raise money and help her fight the high costs of medical bills.
Students can donate money throughout the whole week to this great cause. A lot of people say that want to get involved in their school and do great things, well this is one way to do exactly that. The students of Ms. Smith’s public health class started this cause and are doing most of the advertising. Andrew Loveless said, “the goal of all of this is just to raise money and help out Ms. Suzie.”
Justin Palmer, a football and track and field athlete, has had Ms. Suzie as a bus driver countless times. Over the years Palmer has gotten to know Ms. Suzie very well. “She brings us candy and even stays to watch out games. She is very friendly and actually cares about us,” he said. Many teams look forward to their games and spending time with Ms. Suzie on the bus.
It is only fitting that the students at Patterson Mill want to help out someone that is always so nice to them. Students hope to raise enough money that they will be able to help pay for Ms. Suzie’s bills. Events like these are why Patterson Mill is known to have some of the best students in Harford County.
