From the center of the huddle to the center of the city, Will Vincel replaced football with a new hobby. Biking.
“I needed something to fill time and stay in shape,” Vincel said. “Running is so monotonous and not many people bike.”
Through picking up his old hobby, Vincel dropped 40 pounds, turning his offensive lineman build into a more fit, athletic look.
“I tried a lot of things to stay in shape like agilities, but bike riding just stuck,”said Vincel.
At the beginning, Vincel started out riding a basic mountain bike but as he got more and more into it, he decide to upgrade his bike.
“I figured I needed something more substantial,” Vincel said. “So I splurged and got a road bike.”
With biking, Vincel doesn’t have many limitations as to where he can go or what he can do.
“I’ve ridden to places like the airport, Turners, Ozark, Wilsons Creek, and downtown,” Vincel said. “It’s so free, you can do whatever you want. I mean I could get on my bike and ride to St. Louis if I wanted to.”
Vincel plans to keep with biking as long as it keeps him interested.
“I’m gonna stick with it,” Vincel said. “Biking is a life long sport.”
