Tucker Max’s book that started “fratire,” “I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell,” is now coming to theatres. The movie is based off “The Austin Road Trip Story” and features highlights from Tucker’s infamous short stories.
Tucker is played by Matt Czuchry from “Gilmore Girls” and is a sarcastic player who happens to have a law degree from Duke. Tucker and his friends Drew played by Jesse Bradford of “Swimfan” and “Romeo + Juliet” and Dan played by Geoff Stults of “Wedding Crashers” and “The Break Up” set off go to on a bachelor party after Tucker convinces Dan to lie to his fiancée.
Things end up not going as planned as their night of fun turns into a task of not ending up in jail, and results in Tucker losing his invite to the wedding.
The movie is written by Tucker himself and Nils Parker, and has received mixed reviews with IGN saying it is “The Godfather of raucous, twenty-something comedies” and The State News saying Max’s film was “vulgar” and “rarely funny.”
The movie opened Sept. 25 and in limited release due to its low budget, but is growing in theatre numbers every week and has reached St. Louis, Kansas City and Columbia. No ingfield showings had been scheduled as of press time.
