With over 25 years of experience between the two of them, sisters Katie and Molly Brewer hope to lead the Lady Falcons to success in the upcoming season.

Katie Brewer is a senior on the team and her sister Molly is a sophomore. They’ve played together their whole lives, whether it has been on formal teams or just kicking the ball around with their dad.

There is a strong connection between the two of them on the field, especially because both play center midfield and are constantly interacting with each other.

”I know [Molly’s] tendencies and I know her style, so most the time I can predict where she will go and what she will do.” said Katie.

Along with the connection there is also conflict between the two on the field.  Their teammates will agree that once they start fighting there is nothing that can stop them.

“You’re more inclined to say the mean things to the people you’re close to because in the end you’ll still love each other,” said Molly.

This conflict may be due to their different styles of play and how close they are on the field.

“I’m more of a passer, getting the ball down the field and connecting a pass to a teammate,” Katie said. “Molly’s more of a take-em-on and knock-em-down kind of player.”

Some conflict is also due to the fact that Katie is an upperclassman and has seniority over Molly.

“I’ll tell Molly to do something on the field and she won’t do it, but I feel like she should,” Katie said. “ She’s more likely to stand up to me as an underclassman than any other person her age.”

Their relationship on the field resembles their relationship in life.  They are close, yet a lot of conflict exists between the two of them.

“We are complete opposites,” Molly said. “I’m just crazy and she is all about structure.  Soccer is the only thing we have in common.”

In the future, Katie plans on attending the University of Arkansas, where she will not play soccer for the school, but the possibility of joining a club team exists.  Molly currently wishes to play soccer in college when the time comes.

Last season, the Falcons had a very successful season and went all the way to the state championship, placing fourth.  All together the Brewer sisters had a combined 19 goals and 18 assists.  Molly was also selected for All-State.

This season the Lady Falcons will look to the Brewer sisters for a reliable source of strength in the center that will hopefully lead them to their second State Championship appearance.
