The arrival of Halo 3 brought in Microsoft approximately $300 million dollars on September 26th alone. As of October 9, 2007, over 20 million copies were sold. Made specifically for the Xbox 360, this game was released in 37 countries and 17 languages. Many people not only bought Halo 3, but the Xbox console itself, solely to play Halo 3.

Why are people so anxious to get their hands in this video game? This futuristic game if a first person shooter game, in which the player takes the role of Master Chief, a biologically enhanced marine, and fights for humanity against two main groups of aliens named the Covenant and the Flood. The player can choose to play either a campaign or multiplayer. When playing a campaign, the player can choose to either play single player, of play co-operational. To play co-op, two players work together on the same team to complete the campaign. In Halo 3, instead of playing two Master Chiefs, one person can play Master Chief and the other can play Arbiter. The campaign includes nine levels that complete the plot of the Halo trilogy.

The multiplayer option is very popular as well. It allows for up to four people to play on the same screen (using split screen) to battle against each other. Set in the year 2553, the video game includes an array of futuristic weapons including alien guns, futuristic rifles and grenades.

The initial idea for Halo 3 was completed around the same time that Halo 2 was put on store shelves; however, due to the new developments, it took about three years to complete. Overall, the arrival of Halo 3 was highly anticipated, and though some were disappointed in the outcome of the graphics, most still greatly enjoy the experience provided by Halo 3.
