In the newest attempt to reboot the Punisher series, War Zone stars Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle A.K.A The Punisher. Taking place six years after the initial creation of The Punisher in which his family is killed, he is now trying to wipe out trying to wipe out the mob. After accidently killing an undercover FBI agent, The Punisher decides he wants to throw in the towel, but his friend and gun supplier, Micro convinces him to return to duty when mobster Billy Russoti reemerges as the villainous Jigsaw.

Going into The Punisher: War Zone, I was really excited and had high expectations, but I was ultimately disappointed. There are many flaws in this movie that usually I wouldn’t notice in an action movie, but they were so ridiculous in this onethat I found myself laughing. For example, in one scene when the Punisher comes across an ally who was attacked with an axe and the Punisher says, "Don’t you die on me." Some of the other flaws include bad acting except from Ray Stevenson because he was great for the part, even if he has some bad dialogue; the script is just not that good.

Even with those flaws, War Zone is still a solid action movie. Even though I felt disappointed, the great lead, sadistic villain, and awesome bloody violence redeemed this movie and made it a fun movie to watch. The violence is seriously awesome. In this movie, they show a bunch of different ways to blow a guys head off. So, if you’re looking for a mindless action movie full of excessive violence and awesome headshots the Punisher:War Zone is for you, but don’t be expecting this movie to be better than the 2004 Punisher movie starring Thomas Jane.
