Leaves of Grass starred the two-time Academy Award Nominee Edward Norton. It is not shocking at all that Edward Norton performs at his best in this movie. He is obviously one of the best actors of all time. Just when you think Norton cannot get any greater, he plays a role in which he has to be two people at once; twins to be exact. Leaves of Grass also starred Keri Russell and Richard Dreyfuss and was directed by Tim Blake Nelson who also acted in this movie.

Leaves of Grass is about a high class professor, Billy Kincaid (Norton) who finds out that his twin brother, Brady Kincaid (Norton), died and returns home to Oklahoma only to find that his brother didn’t really die. Billy soon becomes involved with the life of his brother, Brady. Brady’s life consists of constantly being threatened for money, dealing drugs, and caring for his mother. Billy starts to reconnect with his roots while also enduring the suspense of the world of drug commerce. Billy gets to know his brother again and learns everything he missed out on.

A clever comedy about the importance of brotherhood and a pot deal gone bad, will make you laugh, cry, and become emotionally attached to each character portrayed. It’s unfortunate that this movie did not receive as much popularity as it should get. That is due to the limited release of the movie because it did not meet the standards of the comedies of this generation, which is of course the comedies with beer, girls, and idiotic acts that attract viewers. S, I encourage people to give this movie a chance, because it actually has a plot and a brilliant performance.
