Waiting for the next title in the Call of Duty franchise is always a grueling one. However, the game that came out on November 9^th was well worth the wait. As many of you may not know, Call of Duty is a video game series based on the heart of warfare. Black Ops Predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set a record in sales and was the most played video game around the world for almost a year. At the midnight millions of players around the world went to the Black Ops midnight launch. In its first 5 days on the shelf, Black Ops sold more than $650 million worth of merchandise. It broke the record of the biggest entertainment launch in history!

Black Ops is a multiplayer, first person shooter that puts you in the boots of a soldier fighting a war. With numerous formats to play on from team death match and capture the flag, the game provides an explosive and impressive experience. There are some new things in the game that may surprise veterans of previous games. For example, there is a new rewards system in which you can win money and purchase a variety of cool new guns and accessories.

Although the multiplayer mode ups the ante for all video games the single player campaign is what shined through for Black Ops creators, Treyarch. The campaign starts you off as a captured soldier who is hearing numbers and is being interrogated by a mysterious figure. As the mysterious figure continues to question you and tortures to get answers the main character, Alex Mason, has flash backs in which you eventually discover how he came to be in his situation. The story is based on actual missions done during the cold war and when Alex Mason learns he had been brainwashed to kill the President, John Kennedy, from the Cuban and Russian governments the action really starts. Black Ops is the best game of the year and will be the perfect gift for millions as Christmas is just around the corner.
