On December 17, 2010, six Marcus Whitman athletes traveled with Mr. Law during the middle of 7^th period to the Daily Messenger at 73 Buffalo Street in Canandaigua. The six athletes where chosen based in three criteria; ballots sent in by coaches, league awards and Daily Messenger staff input. There was a variety of different sports from boys’ cross country to football. The following names are of the athletes and their sport: Zac Ekdahl-Cross Country, Taylor Lazzaro-Football, Matthew Hey-Soccer, Grace Ostrander-Tennis, Michaela Hoover-Tennis, and Ashley Chermak-Tennis.

All the sports are at the varsity level, and it was based on the athlete’s playing abilities. When the six players arrived at the Messenger, they had their pictures taken, were served pizza and drinks, and are asked to fill out an All-star bio sheet. Their names and pictures will be placed in the Daily Messenger one at a time over the course of the next year, and there will be a brief caption of the player and their sport. There were players from 15 different schools at the Daily Messenger.

These six people from MW are considered to be all star athletes. They have excelled in their sport throughout the year, and they will be recognized as all stars. Congrats to all 6 Whitman all-stars!
