Two CHS students help to prepare the haunted gym for this weekend. -
The annual, FFA-organized haunted house is preparing to open again this month.

Like many other people, Oran Nehls has been working hard these past couple of weeks to prepare a haunted house throughout the school.

The haunted house here at school is usually successful, with an average of 300-600 people that attend. “This haunted house is intended to scare little kids not adults,” said Nehls, “and the more kids we make cry, the better the haunted house is.” The cost is five dollars per person and that includes the haunted house, games, hayride, and crafts.

Nehls has been successful these past couple of years in creating a haunted house. The haunted house has been going on since 1996, but it wasn’t always here at school. The haunted trail used to be at Columbus Park, but for the last three years it’s been here at Campbellsport High School.

Many students, such as Scott Felton, have dedicated time and effort to put together this haunted house. “The caper trail is going to be great this year,” said Felton. “We came up with a couple of new ideas, and we have more people that want to participate to scare little kids.”
