The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America club and SMHS COOP collected bags of candy for their Treats for Troops drive. A total of 143 bags of candy were collected from students and faculty, along with a Xerox box full of loose candy. “The treat drive went extremely well, the students and staff at SMHS are extremely generous,” club sponsor Gail Svor said. Once the candy was all rounded up, they were delivered to Packages from Home, a foundation that sends care and comfort packages to deployed American soldiers. “They were very grateful for our contribution and indicated that treats will be added to the care and comfort packages sent to deployed military personnel who are stationed around the world,” Svor said.
