Why should students vote for you?

Adam: I was vice-president of the Central Region Student Council last year, I have served on student council as a representative every year since 7th grade (I am now in 10th grade), I took a week-long political leadership class called TeenPact this spring, I’m involved with several service activities like fundraisers at our church, and I would always be open to student ideas/suggestions.

Courteney: Students should vote for my ticket because we are devoted, hardworking, and creative. We will do our best to make the rest of the school year memorable. We have several ideas that we have put quite a bit of thought into.  We look forward to the chance of enacting these ideas.

Sam: Our ticket has students who know this school like the back their hands. Also, we have proven leadership! I myself am an Eagle Scout and have served many positions of leadership in Boy Scouts and 4-H

What do you hope to add in the student council?

Adam: Our ticket hopes to form new clubs, invite graduates and former OHVA students under the age of 21 to the Spring Dance, and if it’s possible we’d like to form an all-day, all-school sports field day in Columbus sometime in the spring or summer, among many other things. And of course, we’d do our best to incorporate whatever ideas the students have.

Courteney: We school in a unique environment and this environment denies us some of the things traditional schools can do, but it also opens new doors. My ticket and I hope to create the best experience we can with what we have and we are willing to push the limits and bring new, practical ideas to life.

Sam: We would like to have regional bonfires in the summer time so kids can stay in touch. Also, we would like to do a summer olympics next summer so we can have some sort of sports day and let kids get to know and challenge each other. We would also like to allow OHVA Alumni under the age of 21 to come to our school dance.

What are your future political aspirations?

Adam: I hope to eventually be president of student council; if not this year, then either next year or the year after that. Long-term, I’m considering going to Patrick Henry College in Virginia, a college designed for people who want to major in political sciences. I hope to work my way up through state and federal offices and one day become at least a U.S. Senator, but my biggest goal and life-long dream is to be the President of the United States.

Courteney: Personally, I will continue to speak out for the rights and credibility of online schools. It is important that we protect our way of schooling. We need to inform the public of the common misconceptions there are about online schools. We need continue to correct these misconceptions.

Sam: I'm not big on politics, but I am very very involved in the fight for school choice. Many times have I testified in front of the Education committee about our school. I will continue to fight for school choice till the day I die.
