Eighteen Ringgold High School students made history when they attended the Pi day competition at Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus, on Friday March 13th. The students work in teams of six on engineering problems. The problems are developed by Dave Meredith, Professor of Engineering at the campus. This year’s competition consisted of six schools and close to 100 participants. Ringgold took three teams consisting of fourteen sophomores and four freshmen. Ringgold finished first, second, and third in this year's competition. According to Dave Meredith, this was the first time in the 10 -year history of the competition that one school took all three top spots. All of the students from Ringgold are in the accelerated math program and are students of Mr. Ed Vercoe and Mr. Bob Grant.
