The college football season started off with a couple of interesting and surprising games. One game that was very surprising was Ohio State’s close win over Navy. Ohio State and Terrell Pryor had high hopes coming into the season but this close win might have been a wake up call. Another top 5 team had a huge scare in week 1 when Florida’s Tim Tebow left the game early in their blow out win against Charleston South. Tebow turned out to be ok and played in their week 2 game. Probably the most shocking and interesting game in week 1 was the Oklahoma Vs. BYU game. In this game Oklahoma’s Heisman quarterback Sam Bradford was hurt and led to Oklahoma’s loss against BYU. Bradford is out for several weeks and Oklahoma’s freshman Landry Jones will fill in for Bradford. Most of the other games for week 1 were filled with blow out wins over subdvision teams. Week 2 was a little bit more of an exciting week with some big games being played against non-conference teams. The biggest game of the week was the Ohio State Vs. USC game in which was a game to see which young quarterback could perform better under pressure. Matt Barkely topped Terrell Pryor and the Buckeyes with a 18-15 game. Another exciting non-conference game was Michigan Vs. Notre Dame, in which Wolverines true freshman quarterback Tate Forcier performance exceeded expectations. Michigan came out on top in an offensive game, 38-34. Oklahoma State was shocked when they found out Houston came to play them and their hopes of a National Championship were shot when they lost 45-35. One game that nearly shocked the college football world was when ACC powerhouse Maryland took one lowly James Madison. The game eventually led on to two overtimes in which Maryland sneaked out the back door with a win. After two weeks of college football over there is still many games to play and plenty upsets still to happen.
