Everyone that is a fan of the Madden video game series knows about the Madden Curse. Throughout the years, whichever player was on the cover of Madden was hurt or their level of play greatly declined.
2000: Barry Sanders- He retired when many considered him in his prime.
2000: Dorsey Levens- Rushed for only 20 percent of the yards he did the previous year.
2001: Eddie George- All statistics dropped
2002: Daunte Culpepper-Knee injury
2003: Marshall Faulk- After hitting the 1,000 yard rushing mark in 7 out of 9 seasons, he never hit the mark again.
2004: Michael Vick- Injured fibula
2005: Ray Lewis- Broke wrist
2006: Donovan McNabb- Sports hernia
2007: Shaun Alexander- Broke bone in foot
2008: Vince Young- Did not start
2009: Brett Favre- Torn biceps
2010: Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald
As every Steelers fan knows Polamalu got hurt during the first game of the season trying to recover a fumble. Fitzgerald has yet to be injured; however, the Cardinals lost their first game of the season. We will soon find out if the curse prevails.
