Everyone in the Pittsburgh and Greater Pittsburgh area had an opinion about the G20 summit. Coming into the summit most people expected terrible results. Some predicted riots, and others, terrorist attacks. A few people considered it a great thing for the city. The summit included representatives from nineteen countries, and one from the European Union arrived in Pittsburgh and for two days discussed changes to international money practices, and about evaluating practices that some countries are already taking. Some rioting and protesting occurred in the city but the police were quick to stop any illegal assemblies. Around 200 people were arrested. Despite the fears of many, The G20 Summit in Pittsburgh was the safest in history. It was also one of the safest international events in history.
