Ringgold High School provided an opportunity to show off some of the students unique talents. Bonnie Sproul and Courtney Reis put this evening together for their Senior Project. The talent show was held on September 30, 2009 in the auditorium with an admission price of $7.00. The tickets sold to the audience were a chance to win a door prize, which was picked toward the end of the show. There were fourteen acts, including singing, dancing, hula hooping, gymnastics, piano playing, and a live band. An estimate of over one hundred people was in the audience, and they all enjoyed the performances.
Act one kicked off with Bonnie Sproul singing and dancing up and down the aisles of the auditorium. In between each act, Ringgold’s own Skippy Martinelli told jokes to keep the audience alive. During intermission, the people in the audience were invited to buy cookies, chips, and soda. The money that Bonnie and Courtney raised was not just for any old thing, they donated it to the drama department in order to buy brand new spotlights. When everyone settled back into their seats, the show continued. Following the live band were singing and dancing acts. Before the last performance, two ticket numbers were randomly selected to win the door prize. The prizes were plastic caged skeletons for decoration for the Halloween season. The final act consisted of a bubble blowing bonanza.
Before the show began Bonnie wished the whole cast good luck. “I hope everyone does a good job and the show is enjoyable”, Bonnie added. Bonnie and Courtney wanted to say thank you to Mr. Homa, Mr. Marvin, and Mr. Minnitti for letting this even happen. They also wanted to add a special thank you to the stage crew, ushering staff, custodial staff, secretarial staff, security staff, teachers, Hayley, Artemis, and Jon for all of their hard work.
