The Newest Club Around: Bible Club

This year Bobbie Crafton is heading up what is a new revolution on Bible Club. He opens the doors of Ringgold to Mrs. Mean’s room after school on Tuesday’s to any and all interested. Some may think this club is just a bunch of pencil pushers and Bible thumpers, but anything can be further from the truth. We welcome all who wish for a prayer, a kind word, even the skeptics, and non-believers.

Although we focus on many topics, we leave time for discussion and answers. Everything is open-minded and revolving around multiple religions, in which nothing is one-sided. So if you’re interested in what some your fellow students are interested in, come meet up with us in room 228 on Tuesday after school.

We have multiple sponsors that provided some snacks and beverages. So feel free to come express your will in the lord.

(Ringgold does not have any affiliation with this club. However, it is a club of the Mon-Valley region and is allowed to meet on school grounds.) Bible Club will not meet on the 30th due to the fall break; it will start up again on December 7th. “Have a great Holiday Break!”

I for one, think that it is a great accomplishment for ringgold to have this club. It allows people who believe in realitively the same things to come together and worship. For those who left nasty comments, you should know that even if you don't love god, he loves you. You are still his children, he will never cease to love you! I applaud the director of the bible club for his perseverance and determination to start this club. Bobby, your work is greatly appreciated and you have made a great effect on my life.

I love how this idiot is allowed to tell me that I am going to burn for eternity for not believing in an invisible man in the sky (blatant hate speech aimed at me and my religious views), yet I am not allowed, for whatever reason, to point out the flaws in his swiss cheese argument in a calm, professional, and hate-free manner -- unlike him, which was posted with (what I would believe to be) no second thought. Do I smell bias?

LOL, Censorship!

How about we keep religion out of schools. I agree with the student stating the "What if?" if someone did indeed want to start a non-Jesus religious group, that there would be a riot. It's also complete garbage that a Bible club was started but when a student decided they wanted to create a GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) group, they were completely denied. Does that sound fair to you?

Thank you for the typical Christian response -- really, I'm applauding you. You assaulted me on an unwarranted level, jumping into your defensive stance the moment the first sign of a "sinner" approached, essentially telling me that, for my lack of "belief" in this fairy tale, I am going to burn in hell -- the workings of a loving god, apparently.. Tell me, KC, why do you believe in God? Because it was shoved down your throat from birth? Because, on some esoteric level, you believe that he's spoken to you? Of course, I mean not to attack you, and I respect your views if you respect mine, but, you know, "he who casts the first stone..." See, I just love how you people think it's silly for me to ONLY believe in the possibility of a god (read: agnosticism, the religious equivalent of being open-minded) whenever you base your entire life around some invisible entity who, it seems, doesn't always have the best motives, and whose teachings are based around a book that's been translated by HUMANS with CONTRASTING MORALS AND MOTIVES for longer than I could fathom. If you're going to believe in God, at least do it in the right way: live well and love others instead of jumping down nonbeliever's throats for not thinking your way. It seems as though you're too focused on disagreeing with me to love me -- your number one rule. Would you not be up in arms if a couple of kids formed a united atheist's club? Perhaps I'll see to it. Also, I'd like for you to point out one grammatical error in my post before you start with your "glass house" drivel. This article was written horribly.

I am thrilled to see the integrity and fortitude of the students who stand firm in their belief and choose to openly and unashamedly, study and stand for their faith. Jesus said, "Therefore whoever confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 10:32-33 Also, speaking of serious journalism and proofreading, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones!

And you know that if anyone attempted to establish an "alternative" (i.e. not Christian) religious communion on school grounds, blood would be split. Perhaps we'll see. On a lesser note, does anyone proofread this? Like this: "This year Bobbie Crafton is heading up what is a new revolution on Bible Club." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? No disrespect, but no one is going to take this journalism seriously otherwise. I know I don't.
