Many students are anxiously waiting for the last school bell to ring that will announce the beginning of their summer. This may be exciting, but also dreadful because of what will be coming, which is work.
Many teenagers understand that in order to be able to go out and do stuff they need money. But how they acquire the money doesn’t sound very pleasant for many.
Students want to be able to go out and have fun and spend, spend, spend. But many parents can’t afford to have their children going off and doing whatever they want on their budget.
So, teenagers resort to the only way they know how to get money, which is of course a job. Teenagers can be working part time or full time depending on how much they have to pay for and provide for themselves.
“In order for me to get a car and pay for it I need a job,” said junior Ginny Johnson. “I also am planning on going over to Germany next year, and I will also have to pay for that by myself.”
Many college-bound kids will have to take out student loans to help cover costs. This could lead into more stress for many who aren’t careful with how they spend their money and use credit cards.
Some build a hole so deep that they can’t seem to get out of it by themselves. This affects their future tremendously not only with having debt, but relationship problems, which is a leading cause for divorces.
“I work at the bank that pays good money,” said junior Karly Kennedy. “I am working this summer to help with my college funds.”
