What’s it like to portray a plant?
Ask senior Ginny Johnson, who portrayed the living plant known as Audrey 2 for the fall musical Little Shop of Horrors.
“I didn’t even have to try out for the play this year,” Johnson said. “I was asked to play this role.”
Johnson played two of the four versions on Audrey 2, known as a puppeteer. She did not have any lines in the musical.
Tech week was busy for all performers.
“(That) week I personally put in many hours,” she said. “I (was) here from 6 p.m to 1:30 a.m. every day as we are finishing up for opening night.”
Two performances were held during Halloween weekend.
“I love theater,” Johnson said. “Tech week is always stressful, but worth it opening night.”
Johnson wants to pursue acting following high school. She wants to get a degree in performing arts. She has not decided the college she wants to attend.
Sierra Gerry and Trey Brooks were also puppeteers.
