Silver Pens is hosting a writing contest. You can submit either a personal essay or flash fiction piece. A personal essay can persuade, inform, or entertain and a flash fiction essay is a very short story. Make sure your essay has a definite beginning, middle, and end.
There is no entry fee or form to enter, you simply type your essay, a cover page, and bring it to Mr. Cross.
The essay needs to be 1 to 2 pages typed, double spaced, and with no smaller than 12-font. DO NOT put your name on the essay itself so the judging can be completely fair and un-bias. Include your name on the cover page with the title. No hand-written essays will be accepted.
Your piece will be judged on creativity, content, grammatical correctness, and organization. The deadline is April 24th.
There will be 1st through 4th place winners. Cash prizes will be awarded!
We hope that this will be an effective and fun experience for all the young writers at North County.
P.S. - you can enter essays that you have written for class as long as they meet these requirements.
Good luck!
