The first round of the NBA playoffs couldn’t have gotten much more exciting.  The Celtics enter the 2nd after a hard fought win in 7 games against the Bulls.  The Hawks and Magic won both of their series in 6 games. The Cavaliers swept the Pistons and the Lakers took care of the Jazz in 5. The Mavericks shocked the Spurs by upsetting them in 5 games.  The Nuggets had the most impressive first round by smashing the Hornets in 5 games including a game four 58 point victory. Though, the first round was great only expect more from the semifinal match-ups.

The Nuggets took a quick 1-0 series lead after blowing the Mavericks out in the fourth quarter to take a easy win 109-95.  This series consist of two superstars; Carmelo Anthony and Dirk Nowitzki.  This series also consist of great point guard from both Jason Kidd and Chauncy Billups. Two of series with begin tonight.  Lakers and Rockets will begin at 9:30 p.m. central time.  Rockets had a good performance in the first round against the Trail Blazers but are going to need an A+ effort to take down Kobe and Los Angeles.  The Orland Magic and Boston Celtics will also hit the hardwood tonight.  They will start at approximately 7:00 p.m. central time.  The Magic are trying to bounce back from their semifinal lose in last year’s playoffs.  While the Celtics are looking to repeat as NBA champions. The Cavaliers, my favorite to win the championship, will face the young and athletic Hawks in the 2nd round. Though, Lebron James will have his way in the inexperienced Hawks.

The 2nd should set up great conference championships games and NBA championship!
