Mr. Assareh, our teacher.

It is that time of year again. It is the end of the school year, a time of celebration, jubilation, and for some sadness. Some are happy to be moving on with their lives, while others want to stay forever. The seniors are leaving, and the juniors are moving up to become the new leaders of the school. I am one of those juniors.

While writing for this wonderful newspaper I have shared and experienced many things that I’ll never forget. I have met new people, and made new friends. First off we couldn’t have accomplished all of the things we did this year without our teacher/supervisor, Mr. Assareh. He coached us the whole way, as we had an inexperienced staff, but we fought through it and made it. He won’t be returning next year because he has taken a teaching job at Union High School. It has been my pleasure to have had him as a teacher.

Next, is our editor, Amber Settles. Amber was the one who checked our stories, proofread them, and gave them the “ok” to be put in the paper. We couldn’t have made it without her. Stephon Martinez was our sports man, he wrote about anything to do with Raider sports. He covered all of the fall sports, both of the basketball teams, the soccer team, and the baseball team. Alicia Price was our entertainment provider, so to say. She always knew what was going to be coming at the movies, and always gave us the inside scoop. I’m sure all of these seniors will be moving on to live successful careers, but as for me, I will be back next year as the only surviving member of the 08-09 school year.
