Raven Larkin is well known in this school for her interesting personality and endless fashion. She is very popular, positive, and never cruel to anyone. There has always been great enthusiasm in her many activities and hobbies. She is currently seventeen years old and is in the class of 2012. She loves North County and is very active in as much as she can do around here too! Larkin is a basketball player and a cheerleader. She participates in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) , FLC (Foreign Language Club),  and PAL clubs. This year she has also been elected as the Treasurer of her class. As you can see, just with school related things she already does more than an average student!

“I like these activities because the people have to have school spirit!” Larkin says.

Although she may appear to be ‘girlie girl’ when you see her getting so involved at school and always looking ‘fixed up’ with makeup, her hair done, and her love for fashion, she also has a love for adrenaline. It started at a very young age when she shared many hobbies with her relatives. Ever since she was practically born, she's  been on things like four-wheelers, horses, racecars, and water skies!

Her grandparents on her father’s side were a big influence in her love of horses. The family had always done rodeos and races. At a young age, she started out doing show horses, and then as she got older she began to do barrel racing too. Her dad was also a big influence on her love for drag racing.

When describing her love for her lifelong hobbies Larkin says, “I’ve been in a saddle all of my life. I love it because it’s just me and my horse; it’s something you have to put your mind to, and even if you’re scared, you still gotta saddle up! The same goes for drag racing; it’s an absolute adrenaline rush when you pull up to the line.”

With her busy schedule, it does become difficult to find time to do much else. Larkin and her family are on the road frequently, and she has missed things like birthday parties, and school dances but she feels that it is well worth it. Larkin spent her childhood consumed in a similar lifestyle to the one she flourishes in now.

She explains, “Childhood was always either strapped to a pair of water-skis, on the back of Grandpa’s motorcycle, on the tractor digging up for the horse show arena, or eatin’ sunflower seeds at the racetrack!”

In the past she considered giving up what makes her life so exciting but realized that those things are who she is and without them her life would feel empty! She has a few people that can really relate to her wild lifestyle but many others cannot. Over the years she has learned “…not to worry about how others live their life but to live how you want and do whatever makes your pulse race!”
