True love has struck not once, but multiple times at North County HS. Every year there is at least one couple who decides it’s time to tie the knot and get married after graduation. This year, there are four. Three of these couples will wed in June and the other in August.
The first of these couples to venture out in the “grown-up” world are Olivia Mackley and fiancé Tyler Finley. Olivia and Tyler have set the date for June 4th. They are planning a traditional country style wedding. When asked what true love really is, they said, “It’s loving and respecting each other no matter what and still having butterfly feelings after seven years of being together.”
Two weeks later, on June 18th, Christina Gilliam and Robert Robbins will say their “I do’s.” “I think what sets Robert and I apart from other couples is that we’re both silly and we like to have fun. Let’s just say we’re not the brightest crayons in the box, but that is what makes us who we are,” said the bride-to-be Christina Gilliam. After the wedding they will reside in their house that they are currently rebuilding. Robert will continue working for the union and Christina will attend college in the fall.
The next wedding will be on June 25TH. On that day, graduate Shae Marler will put a ring on senior Hillary Pinkston’s finger. When asked what advice you would give another couple when it comes to fighting, Hillary said, “The best thing to do is to take time and sit down to talk about it. You need to try to understand both sides.” The future plans are for Hillary to go to college and to one day buy a house.
Kayci DuVall and fiancé Adam Capps are planning their wedding in August. Kayci stated that she knew Adam was the right person for her because, “He’s ALWAYS there for me 110% of the time and supports me in everything I do. He is my right hand man and my best friend 24/7.” After they are married, Kayci will join Adam on an Air Force base and travel the world with him. They are both so excited and feel lucky to have these opportunities together.
Some people say that true love is hard to find; others say that it’s right there in front of you. “Love is not written on paper, for paper can be erased. Nor is it etched on stone, for stone can be broken. But it is inscribed on a heart and there it shall remain forever.” Best of wishes to these couples and their futures together.

I wanna say congrats, hope you couples last for 50+ years. And just remember marriage isnt always easy so try to set aside the differences and work together as one.
