In Ellen Hopkin’s newest book Perfect, she writes about four teenagers that all have a dream that they are willing to risk everything for. As a sequel to her book Impulse, we have Cara, the sister of the boy who couldn’t take life anymore. Now she is left alone with her parents that have unrealistic expectations. Kendra, the ever popular teenager, is stuck on having the perfect face and body, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she desires most in this world. Then you have Sean. Sean is your athlete for this story. He’s great on and off the field, but as his life gets crazy he quickly turns to the one thing that is most likely to mess him up the worst. And finally we have Andre. Andre has a crazy talent when it comes to dancing; the only problem is, his parents and sadly a lot of the community don’t see it. Join these teens as they battle against self-hatred, discrimination, drugs, and self-image. I assure you, one of them will wrap you quickly up in their world.
