My final visit with the Patas Monkeys was similar to previous times. They were constantly jumpy and hyper, and it seemed at times as if they would never settle down. While watching these animals it hit me that there were many similarities from the last time watching them. There are still five monkeys, two adults, and three kids. The Patas Monkeys were also still very loud and rambunctious. These speedy and fast animals were probably the most entertaining animal to watch since I have been at the Zoo. There were also many plants, a lot more than last time and also the monkeys seemed to be in the water a little bit more mainly due to the high temperatures.

It has been a great experience to witness these animals in their natural habitat and it has also been great meeting with my keeper Jennifer Ireland and being updated about these mammals. I am very grateful for getting the chance to interact with her, go to the Patas Monkeys exhibit and check out what is going on once a month. There are not too many schools that give you the opportunity to meet with a keeper or do a project on an animal right outside your campus. While writing my beat article, I have wanted to learn more about other animal’s in the Zoo and see what they have to offer.
