As I ventured into the Cypress Swamp exhibit, I noticed a most interesting sight: thousands of newly formed tadpoles were swimming through the brown mossy water in the alligator area. The tadpoles bring life to the pond and are exciting to watch. Tadpoles are born in the fresh waters of summer, which in this case it’s the alligator’s water hole. What’s new from the last time that I visited the Cypress Swamp; the alligators were livelier than the past. It was most interesting to watch the alligators swim around in the murky waters.

The ducks were living it up in their own habitat; every bird was swimming and playing around with each other. As I viewed the ducks I noticed that they were diving into the water, this must have been an act of trying to cool down. While watching, many of people moved closer to take a glance at the colorful ducks. One mother was with her kid and they both managed to have the ducks walk right besides the railing.

When coming to the Cypress Swamp exhibit you have to view the American Alligator habitat; this ten foot monster is the most interesting to view. While watching the alligator swim across its habitat one little kid was standing beside me, amazed to see such an amazing reptile. The Cypress Swamp exhibit is something a visitor must see when they visit the North Carolina Zoo.
