If you are one of the many persons absolutely bored with what Corpus Christi has to offer in terms of restaurants and dining, fear not: the Tango Tea Room is here. Since 2004, the Tango Tea Room has offered customers the finest in food and drink while appealing to the community’s alternative side. Middle-eastern and Indian music plays to the sounds of the busy kitchen in the back while one is allowed any seat within the Tea Room’s large eating area. Service isn’t a problem as each table already houses a pitcher of water, a few cups, and silverware and napkins.

After ordering my American Hippie Burger (a maple Dijon veggie burger generously packaged with sprouts, tomatoes, and red onions on a croissant bun), I wandered through the store located within the Tea Room. Named the Yin-Yang Fandango, the shop offers the finest in clothing, accessories, incense, and candles.

Not five minutes later, my burger was brought out to my table, along with a cup of fresh fruit and tortilla chips (with homemade salsa). The entire meal was delicious as was the orange fruit chiller I had ordered along with my meal.

All in all, if vegetarian food is your thing (and even if it isn’t), you owe it to yourself to check out the Tango Tea Room. There’s no gigantic waiting lines or annoyingly generic canned music – just good ‘ole eating.
