Grad Nite was held at MGM in Disney World. The whole place was closed down just for the senior class. There were people there from all different states like New York, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina. There were many different bands there such as Metro Station, The White Tie Affair, Lloyd, and Katy Perry. Hayden Panettiere was the host and she announced Katy Perry. There were many rides at Grad Nite like the Tower of Terror where people were dropped from 13 stories and the Rockin’ Roller Coaster. There was also and American Idol experience where three students sang different songs and auditioned and were given a chance to sing with Katy Perry. The student audience was able to vote for the winner and it was like the actual American Idol show. There was a Toy Story game where you could shoot targets against an opponent and also a Star Wars stimulator ride.”I had a lot of fun hanging with my friends” said senior Kacy Mitchell “It was a great way to end senior year.”Metro Station had the crowd jumping with their songs like “17 forever” and “Shake, Shake.” Katy Perry had the crowd dancing. There was a big crowd of people waiting for her long before she was performing. She played the classics like “I kissed a girl” and “Hot N’ Cold.” The crowd was dancing along with every song. She even went out in the audience and kissed a girl in the audience.“My favorite part was the tower of terror and seeing Metro Station and Katy Perry” said senior Erica Wurzel. “She is an awesome performer and really had the crowd going.”It was a long bus ride altogether. Buses left at 5pm and seniors didn’t get back until around 5:30am. On the way up, the teachers entertained students by putting together games to play. One game was guessing how much candy was in a jar and the winner won the candy. Another game was the Most Dangerous Bus Game played with lifesavers and toothpicks. Prizes were given for the winners. It was a day that seniors should remember for a long time.
