Once again Dr.Victor Nobels came back to speak to the generation of the future. Informing students about drugs and how easy it is to become addicted. Dr.Nobels explained how he fought a case on stopping people from smoking and trying to explain how nicotine travels from the lungs to the heart and then to the brain in seven seconds. Santaluces students seemed extremely interested in learning facts about nicotine and how it affects your brain. His story took place 27 years ago and he is still teaching students as young  as 8 and 9 years old about the affects of doing drugs and smoking. Most high school students think they know all the can about drugs and smoking but they didn't know as much as they thought they knew.

“I learned something new about drugs and smoking, cigarettes has holes in them, people think they are light but they’re not. when people put them in their mouth the chemicals that are naturally there comes out and creates health problems.” said Sophomore Jordinskyi Oliver

A lot of high school students think that marijuana is a “natural” drug and does not cause problems for people. But Dr.Nobels informed them that just like smoking cigarettes it comes with bad health problems and you are at risk for cancer just like people who smoke cigarettes. He stated that smoking two “joints” a day equals smoking ten cigarettes.

“I liked Dr.Nobels a lot, he’s a very good speaker and very enthusiastic. he gave us lots of information on stuff i didn't know. It was really interesting. I loved it!” stated Junior,Celeste Matson

Dr.Nobels also explained how the brain changes slowly over time and every time you smoke or do drugs until your addicted. This assembly was a perfect way to give students a wake up call and maybe stop students who are abusing drugs and smoking to stop and prevent others from ever starting.
