DRUGS! I bet I caught the student body’s attention. My mind is still trying to understand why people are obsessed with that garbage.

Yeah people say they do it for the rush or to escape problems but no one told them to take drugs as an alternative.

I know people see me as a pretty boy from a nice neighborhood. The pretty boy part doesn’t bother me but if you would see the actual neighborhood that I live in, your whole way of thinking would change.

Lake Worth and Kirk Rd. I reside there and it might make you think that I’m just as big a pothead like more than 50% of our students. However I take the easy way out of my problems. Last year I played on the Boy’s JV Basketball team but I realized it wasn’t for me.

Although Coach Dixon did teach me how to be a responsible young man, I knew deep down inside that music was my passion. So I decided to pursue my music and respectfully leave the basketball life.

I want to know why people think drugs are cool? Why is it cool to be a “goon”? And why is it cool to be “unfriendly” all of a sudden? Drugs push people in all different types of ways. Drugs are the black hole of the universe, in case you didn’t know.

Back to my basketball story. I left it but I didn’t decide to take up drugs. One, because my parents would kill me. Two, because I respect myself and believe it or not the drugs you take affect your family and friends because you can get them into that obscenity. I hate seeing kids stoned out of their minds in class.

They always have their heads down and they ask their neighbors “Hey bro, are my eyes red?” or “Do I look straight?”

Then they have the nerve to get mad when they get caught. These drug addicts are going to get what they have coming to them sooner or later. It’s just a matter of time before they realize that drugs are the root of all evil.
