It’s getting warmer, spring break is just around the corner, and the end of the school year is coming up fast. It is time for a new wave of movies to come out! There is something for everyone from “17 Again” a comedy starring Zac Efron, to “Knowing” a thriller starring Nicolas Cage. The most popular genre coming out is clearly comedy. “17 Again” “Observe and Report” “I Love You, Man” “Adventureland” and “Sunshine Cleaning” are all comedies coming out in the near future.
“17 Again” stars Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann, in addition to Zac Efron. It is similar to “13 Going on 30.” Adult Mike O’Donnell, regrets the way his life has turned out and suddenly wakes up at 17 so he can “re-live” his life.
“Observe and Report” features Seth Rogen, whom many people recognize from the popular movies “Step Brothers” and “Pineapple Express” and he was also the writer of “Superbad.” “Observe and Report” is about a crazy mall security guard who dreams to make it to be a real police officer; however he has to prove himself as a mall security guard before they let him be a police officer.
“I Love You, Man” is about a lonely guy named Peter Klaven, who needs a best man. So, to solve his problem, he “dates” a bunch of guys to figure out who would make the best best man. Once he chooses a best man, he has a hard time balancing time between his new best man and his fiancé.
“Adventureland” features the much loved “Twilight” star, Kristen Stewart. It’s is about a guy who right out of college takes an easy job at an amusement park, and even though he was advised against it, he finds out how perfect the job is for him.
“Sunshine Cleaning” is about a mom who cannot afford private school for her son. To raise money, she starts a biohazard removal/crime scene clean-up service with her sister.
Other popular types of movies coming out in the spring are thrillers and dramas. “Race to Witch Mountain,” “Duplicity,” “Fighting,” “Sin Nombre,” “State of Play,” and “Knowing” are all movies that fall in this category.
“Race to Witch Mountain” is about two kids with superpowers who are running from the government because they want to use their powers for evil.
“Duplicity” is a spy movie with Julia Roberts. It is written by the same man who wrote “The Bourne Identity,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” It is about two spies, who work for two different agencies, who end up in a “spy war.” They have to choose between the jobs they love, or the person.
“Fighting” features Channing Tatum, who has also starred in “She’s the Man,” “Step Up,” and “Step Up 2.” In the movie, he discovers street fighting and throughout the movie he has to figure out how to get out of what he got in to.
“Sin Nombre” is about a Honduran teenage girl who dreams of moving to the U.S. The movie takes you through her journey of traveling alone through Mexico and hopefully, to the U.S.
“State of Play” stars Rachel McAdams from “The Notebook.” It is a mystery where they try to discover the murderer of a congressman’s mistress.
“Knowing” is about a teacher who opens a time capsule. This time capsule has led him to believe that his family is involved in some fairly important events in the future.
These are just a few of the many movies coming out in the near future. It seems like there is something for everyone!
