The track season is coming to it’s final stretch as runners plan to hang up their spikes. The Hawks have had a great season so far, as they have their eyes set on dominating the championship season.

"The team has been working really hard," coach Jennifer Ennis said.

Seniors James Poyer, Lyndon German, Kenny Spurlock and Mackenzie Scott have stepped up to lead the team this year so they could perform well at the big meets.

The team has two phenomenal long-distance runners in James Poyer and sophomore Molly Breidenbaugh. Poyer has become a symbol of Hanover’s men’s long-distance running as he reaches the end of his senior year. Breidenbaugh is ranked 12th in the state in the two-mile. These two runners are looking forward to dominating districts and regionals.

The team also has some of the area’s most dominating sprinters in Scott, Spurlock, and German.

"Mackenzie Scott has continued to dominate the hurdle races in the local and state level," Ennis said.

Scott is looking to carry out a great performance during the championship season.

Spurlock, also a member of the boys soccer team has a lot of potential according to Ennis.

"He set the record in the 100 meter dash early in the season," Ennis said, "Also he has the potential to run in college."

"The upperclassmen have done an outstanding job in leading this team" Ennis said.
