The Revolution Prep SAT preparatory classes are held in Baruch College Campus High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays on preset schedules. On Tuesdays, each student will take a four-hour long practice test to gauge his performance. On Thursdays, students learn the math, vocabulary and skills deemed essential to doing well on the test.
Revolution Prep offers about 12 classes for $500. Other preparatory programs, such as Elite Academy, cost around $1400 for about 20 classes. “Revolution would be more accessible to the students because of the price and the scholarships," said guidance counselor, Bonnie Phillips. "It tries to help students with financial needs, to enable them and to prepare them for their SAT's. It works with the schools and provides information for students and parents through their workshops."
The PSAT workshops will begin on December 19th. Each class will start at 6:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM. Students will take a mock SAT exam on February 6th, 2010. On the 23rd of the same month, a workshop will be held to educate parents about the exam.
