On April 4th, the International Student Club will be making another appearance at the VA hospital in Milwaukee to the spinal chord injury unit to follow up on their previous visit on December 5. This project is their citizen initiative project for the year.

After adopting the spinal chord injury, the ISC members donated three DVD players on their previous visit on December 5. This trip, the ISC will be bringing any DVD’s that anyone will be willing to donate. Mrs. Pat Downing is the ISC Advisor and sent out an e-mail to AHS staff informing them of the event. “Comedy, action, adventure, and suspense DVD’s are preferred, because the veterans are not able to move very well and could use something positive,” states Downing.

Downing commented that she hoped this next visit will go just as well as the previous one. In December, students were very happy to attend the hospital in December and wanted to help. The veterans were ready and excited to see their gifts and new friends. The day after, the nurses said that they could tell a difference in the actions of the veterans. It was a very rewarding experience.
