At-a-glance

The Paranormal Activity franchise continues producing with their third film from Paramount Pictures, “Paranormal Activity Three.”

Controversies surround the movie on whether it is scary or true or not and Arrowhead students speak out.

Some Arrowhead students said it was well-produced, some said it was terrible, and some said it was so chilling that they couldn’t sleep.

“On a scale from one to five, five being high, I would give it a five. The franchise has only gotten better,” says Johnny Klaus, a junior. “It was very suspenseful and kept you on edge. It was a movie I would definitely go see again.”

Klaus says the part that scared him the most was when the girls, Katie and Kristi, were playing hide-and-seek and the demon, Toby, pulled Katie’s hair straight up and held her in mid air when she was chasing her sister.

“It was scary and suspenseful,” explains a junior, Kristen Keyes. “Before I entered the movie, I had high expectations because of the success the other two movies brought in, and because the commercials for the movie made it seem twice as good. On a scale from one to five, I would give it a six.”

“The scarcest scene of the movie would have been the part where young Katie and the sitter played Bloody Mary in the bathroom. When the sitter had gotten attacked by Toby and when the room started to shake is what through me off,” Keyes said.

Concluding the Paranormal series with this film, most Arrowhead students said they understood the thriller film is based off of a true story.
