This year’s bowl season started on December 18^th in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and finished with the Allstate BCS National Championship between Alabama and LSU on January 9th in the Louisiana Superdome.

Alabama, who was ranked number two in the nation after losing to LSU earlier this season in overtime, dominated the game, beating number one ranked LSU 21-0. Bama’s defense took no chances and earned sweet revenge.  LSU finished the game with only 92 yards and five first downs.

Both matchups between the two powerhouse SEC teams this season were emphasized with strong defense. In fact, not a single touchdown was scored until Trent Richardson ran for a 34-yard TD with 4:36 remaining in the championship game.

The Crimson Tide proved critics wrong who said they didn’t deserve to play for the title.

The Oregon Ducks beat Wisconsin 45-38 in the prestigious Rose Bowl presented by Visio. It was the highest-scoring Rose Bowl game ever. Wisconsin has traveled to Pasadena and fell short of a win the past two years.

Michigan State came out on top of Georgia in the Outback Bowl after three overtimes. The Spartans rallied back from a 16-0 halftime deficit.

To wrap up the other BCS Bowl games, Oklahoma won the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Michigan won the Allstate Sugar Bowl, and West Virginia took the Discover Orange Bowl. Total, there were 35 bowl games.
