Coconino high school is proud to announce the opening of the new kitchen for the culinary arts course, administrated by Mr. Mulkey.

“Our goal is to provide teachers, staff, and students with good food, produced by the culinary students here at CHS,” said Mr. Mulkey.

After many delays along the way with wrong equipment showing up and problems with the contractors the kitchen is up and running.

At the moment Mr. Mulkey and Mrs. Sutter are in the process of applying for a $540 health department certification to be able to sell food. The café will not be open until that is completed.

The new kitchen and café has come close to $400,000 in expenses.

Mr. Mulkey stated, “I think that everyone here is excited about the new kitchen and I think our culinary arts students will have a positive impact on the community.
