JT Wells speaks on behalf of teenage republicans.
On February 8 in the Broughton cafeteria the Teenage Republicans and Young Democrats met and debated the War in Iraq, Bush’s new policies, stem cell research and immigration.

“The debate was a jumping point for more political activity at Broughton,” senior and co-organizer of the debate, Cooper Harris said.

The two groups felt that an intellectual debate would help spark more political interest within the school.

“I am glad everyone came out and hope to see them again,” junior, J.T. Wells, a speaker and founder of the Teenage Republicans, said.

The clubs are already making plans for the next debate, which they hope to hold in May in the Payne auditorium.
