Right now I consider snow days a glorious day for students, and Mondays are usually dreadfully wretched. Snow days are considerably one ofthe best things to wake up to, while Mondays may quite possibly be one of theworst.

For the winter season these two days might start to be considered equal. With recent budget cut backs in the state a Monday should bea students new favorite day of the week.

In order to save money in west Michigan, counties all overare cutting back and now plowing on Sundays. Some people might object to thisat first but I think that it is a good thing. Not only will it save money itwill help students out.

If there is heavy snowfall or other serious weather problem son Sunday’s roads are not going to get plowed. If the roads are not plowed thenit will be unsafe for students to drive to school and to prevent accidentsschool will be called off.

Most students are not very experienced drivers. Snow dayswill keep in experienced drivers off the icy or snowy roads, and this will keep parents from worrying if their children have made it to school safely. People will also know that this is saving Michigan money.

In the long run this will sill save Michigan money. Another benefit is for the people that are paid to plow. They will not need to workover time and will get to take Sundays off. The money saved from these cutbacks could also be used on something else that will benefit counties in Michigan.

There are a few different things that members in a community can do to help save money. Some people get their driveways plowed. To save money people can plow their driveways themselves. Another way to help savemoney is to spread sand and salt on your own driveway. The salt will melt theice and the sand will create friction so you will be less likely to slip.

Schools are allowed 5 snow days a year until they need to start making up days. I say if you have got them then use them. Underclassman might worry about too many snow days but seniors would not mind if they needed more. Seniors do not have to make up the days at the end of the year. Being a senior, this makes me support the money cut backs even more.

The best benefit of these cut backs in Michigan are definitely the snow days. So I think I am speaking for a lot of students when Isay these cut backs are a wonderful thing.
