The golf team is finishing up the season with the AVCTL Invitational May 11.

They are competing and practicing to do as well as possible in the league and regional tournaments. So far this season, two athletes have medaled individually. They continue to work to get better.

"The team has the capability of finishing in the upper half of all of their tournaments this year," coach Paul Buller said.

The team hopes for each player to show improvement throughout the season and to peak towards the end.

"Many of the players are very committed to the game of golf. We expect for both

varsity and junior varsity squads to be in medal contention in many tournaments," Buller said.

The goal for both the coaches and players is to get better personally and to do well at the end-of-the-season tournaments.

"I would like to make fourth on the team and do well at league," junior Jake Sorenson said.

The athletes are working on learning to keep the ball in play and to develop a good short game. If players reach those goals, Buller thinks they should do well in the league tournament at Pine Bay in Haysville. After league, regionals will take place in Winfield on May 18.

"It is very enjoyable to see how players improve from the beginning of the year to the end of the year," Buller said.
