Ellen Ratner is a radio correspondent for the White House and a news analyst for FOX News. In other words, she is a very important person. And luckily for South Side students, she came to their school on Tuesday, March 8 to talk to them about what she does.
“I like her job; she works with the White House and talks about what goes on in the White House to radio shows. She is really good at her job, I think it would be fun to do what she does,” Ashley Tipler, a sophomore and South Side who attended the assembly, said.
“She is a very outspoken person. She has strong opinions on things like oil, the health reform, and Egypt,” David Mayo, a freshmen at South Side, said.
But, working with politics isn’t the only important thing she does. She is also the founder of a charity called Goats for Old Goats that sends goats to people in Southern Sudan for food.
“The goat’s milk doesn’t need to be processed and it has a lot of nourishment. I think it’s a good program; it gives the kids in Sudan an opportunity to live a healthy life,” said Ashley.
The Future Farmers of America organization at South Side donated two hundred dollars to the charity.
“I thought the assembly was well organized and well put together, I enjoyed it. I learned a lot about her opinions and what’s going on in the world,” Ashley said.
